Car Park Check

Smart Parking parking charges

Smart Parking runs ANPR camera car parks at supermarkets, town-centre pay sites, lakes and leisure sites, including South West Lakes Trust reservoirs. It records entry and exit times and posts charges to the keeper. In 2025 it appears to have moved from the BPA to the IPC, so appeals rejected by the operator now go to the IAS.

How to appeal a Smart Parking charge

  1. Appeal to Smart Parking within 28 days of the notice. Paying within 14 days usually gets a discount, so decide early.
  2. If it rejects your appeal, it must give you a verification code for IAS, because Smart Parking is a member of the IPC.
  3. Appeal to IAS. It's free for drivers. See our IAS guide.

We name operators factually and have no link to Smart Parking. Its own site is www.smartparking.com.
